If you hold an Import Export Code (IEC) in India — whether you are actively exporting or not — you must validate it on the DGFT portal before June 30, 2026. Missing this deadline means your IEC will be automatically deactivated, and every export and import operation will come to a complete halt.

What is IEC Annual Validation?
The Import Export Code (IEC) is a 10-digit unique identification number issued by DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade). Post-GST, your IEC number is the same as your business PAN. Since February 2021, DGFT requires every IEC holder to confirm or update their details once every year between April 1 and June 30.
